Kyrgyz National Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abdylas Maldybaev
One of the city's most important assets is the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abdylas Maldybaev.
In 1926, the first music and drama studio was formed in the city of Frunze. With the formation of the theater, eminent and talented artists, musicians, conductors, composers, teachers were attracted to the republic.
1930 year
The building was built in 1955 and by architect Laburenko, with the participation of architect Ivanov. The theater building today is one of the most beautiful architectural objects in the whole country.
One of the pearls of Kyrgyz culture is the 1944 staging of Mikhail Rauchverger's ballet “Cholpon,” based on the libretto by Otunchu Sarbagishev and Lev Kramarevsky. During these years, the bright star of the outstanding ballerina Bubusara Beishenalieva rises.

In 1937, the audience saw the first musical drama "Altyn Kyz" literally translated as “golden girl” with the music of Vladimir Vlasov and Vladimir Fere, based on the libretto by Joomart Bokonbaev.
